I honestly will never get used to winters with +18 degrees, outdoor dinners and sneakers as your warmest boots. No-no, I wasn’t a sleepy mama bear missing those freezing few days of the last week in her cozy warm bed, I do remember my teeth chattering few times in shower in the morning. But wasn’t the weekend’s sun just the best compensation?
For this little Russian girl winter was never about stylish layers of colourful scarfs, wool cardigans and cotton T-Shirts, shown in Italian Vogue. Oh I wish! It was more about dramatically UNstylish layers of thermal underwear, warm tights (better – a couple) and jeans. Anything to survive your way to work.
Can you imagine the level of excitement now? Yes, I’m on a cloud nine wearing skirts with bare legs in winter and being able to choose the outfits I really like and not the ones that would safely cover me from head to toe. Probably, I do go a bit extra with that… For example, THAT was my outfit for donuts’ shopping recently, haha! But who said one can’t buy donuts wearing red lipstick and (fake)gems necklace? Especially, when you live in a small town like ours. I mean, we popped out for a sweet treat for like 20 minutes and met two friends on our way – so worth being dressed like a queen every day, don’t you agree?:)
